Lovin' Life!

It is October....OCTOBER!  Seriously, where did the time go?  These past few months have been interesting to say the least.  Wanna hear about it?  I'm in a place that I feel like talking.

I believe the last time we spoke, I was coming off of my 100 days of life changing, knock your socks off, Jarvis you'll never see life the same again prayer.  I know this may sound totally dramatic, and if you know me in real life, then you get it, but yes folks...I will yell from the rooftops that UNLESS you are really, really, really, really READY to lose all control, question your sanity, then 100 days of soul searching prayer is not for you...just keeping it real.

But enough about that.  What I didn't tell you was that I resigned from teaching!  Yep! I.quit.my.job!  With no income to speak of.  I officially resigned in June..but my principal and I went back and forth literally all summer about whether or not I would come back.  (I should have followed my first mind...God had already spoken...but you know me!)

Anywho...a super long story short God closed, locked, and boarded the door to me returning to teaching.  Yay right?!  This is what I wanted.  What I had talked about for a year.  But fear is a bad mamma jamma, and I panicked.  I had no job...which mean I had no money!  Sweet Jesus, what was I going to do now?

All I can say is that God has provided.  I am in a very good place, and if I have learned nothing else, I have learned to trust God at His word.  Y'all, to get up and be able to leisurely sip coffee, listen to music, and spend time with Jesus...it doesn't get any better than that.  If you ask me what's the best part of working from home, I'll tell you my quiet time.

My relationship with the Lord has deepened in a way that I never thought I could (or really wanted to) reach.  I thought those relationships were for other people...more spiritual people.  Do you have hope...?  LOL!  I am so not worthy of the favor and love, and just joy that I have.  Like, this is my life y'all!  Gym in the middle of the day...business and not so business lunches...somebody pinch me!

I love that I have time to help my family and friends, and be there when they need me.  That has been another favorite.  I can tell someone I'll pray for them, and actually get a chance to do it!  Even the bad moments are worth it knowing that I am truly in the will of God!  That's peace right there!

I have this devotional book, Jesus Calling...have you heard of it?  It's a sweet, sweet book.  Get it!  It'll knock your socks off!  The author is Sarah Young!

Well, I have written a book!  Sorry about that.  If you're still with me, bless you!  Would you do me a favor?  I have a friend (God knows exactly who she is), and her family has a long road of healing ahead of them.  Will you pray?  It takes a million years for me to share on this blog, so I dare not overstep someone else's boundaries.  The beauty in this request is that God knows who she is and what she needs.  Gotta love that!

Until next time sweet blogger friends!  (P.S.  I'll be 32 in 2 weeks...say what?!  Seriously y'all...I feel 16..HA!)

The Ugly Side of Life...

I have been in a really crappy mood lately....not just a couple of days, but for a while now. I've always been fairly good at masking my feelings and such, so much so to my detriment sometimes, and I can't tell you how many times I've arrived on this blog to write about my days, but couldn't for fear of sounding like an ungrateful spoiled brat.

So, I offer you my disclaimer...this post will not be filled with feel good messages, pics of my life, or my normal wit....if you're looking for that, come back another day. But today, you're hearing from a girl who doesn't have it all figured out...who's annoyed with selfish people, and who's sometimes really tired of turning the other cheek!

I know I've written this before, but I am somewhat easily annoyed by people at times. My patience is very thin with those who can't see beyond their noses, or who don't do what I would do in a situation, because you know, I am perfect (I kid...really).

I've always heard that when people ask you how you're doing, they don't really mean it...or they don't really want to hear all that you have to say....this has hindered me from being totally open and forthcoming when I'm asked, because like most of us, I really don't like rejection, and when I take the time to share my feelings, and you brush them off...I get really annoyed, (there's that word again), and it totally makes me make a mental note for the future. But, is that the right thing to do? Is it what Jesus did? Aye yae yae....

I chuckle on a daily basis because people think I am so put together....me?! My life is not perfect, I make huge mistakes, I hurt people, people hurt me, I struggle with sin, and just like you, I have those fears, anxieties, and times when I need someone to listen to me, yes me, and not judge or want me to be ok, but just listen.

I'm not quite sure how to end this, and I'm not looking for sympathy or pity...just merely commenting on the things that have had my feathers ruffled here lately! I do want you to know that I know how blessed I am...I know that there are people who would give hand and foot to have my issues, and I have great people in my life...really I know this! Sometimes life is not cute, or convenient, or in my case, fair...and no matter how hard I want to, I can never not be who I am! Until next time...

Fall = Changes!

I.love.Fall. I don't know if it's the turtlenecks, cute designer jeans, the boots, or the fact that the humidity is gone in Houston, and my hair doesn't frizz...I just love it!

While it's not completely Fall here, the temperatures are dropping, and I anticipate the change. Anticipation...that's a good word to describe this season that I'm in! I'm totally focused on my 90 day plan, and while the road is not always an easy one, I know the end result will be worth the blood, sweat, and tears.

I know my life is changing, and while I can't verbalize it...I just know it. For the heck of being random, and because it's my blog, I CAN at least tell you of some little changes that I've made so far...

1. I've switched my toe nail polish to a deeper pink that I love to bring in the new season...life changing I know...lol!
2. I started taking a daily vitamin, and it makes me SO HUNGRY...I don't know if that's a good or bad thing yet...I'll keep you posted!
3. I bought some really cute Christmas decorations, and I'm still searching for the perfect Christmas stockings!
4. I've started reading the Twilight series, and I had NO desire to...but I caved!
5. I joined a book club with some ladies from work...super pumped about that!
6. I'm in the process of completing my dream poster, destination 30! YIKES!!! I have about 13 1/2 months to go, so I better get busy!
7. I'm participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure next month...

After focusing on some things during this time...here's what hasn't changed:
1. I still struggle with pride and having humility
2. My tongue is still one of the quickest out there...ugh!
3. I love ministry...excited to see what God does here
4. I'm still very much so impatient!
5. Sometimes I seriously wonder how God puts up with me....thank you Lord!
6. God's mercies are new EVERYDAY, GREAT is His faithfulness...

Changes are everywhere in my life, and I can only pray that they keep coming as part of the Lord's will!

I'll write more later...maybe I'll include a pick of my cute feet...HA!

P.S. My back has been hurting since Wednesday, so please say a prayer for me for God's healing! Just to let you know the seriousness, I took an 800 mg Motrin tonight, and if you know me at all, you know I NEVER TAKE PAIN MEDS!!!

Goodnight...leave me a comment if you'd like!

Oh the places you'll go!

I know, I know...I've been a little MIA, but I have a couple of things to share. First of all, I'll be updating the prayer blog tonight, so e-mail me your requests, and I'll be sure to post them.

OK, so here's some news. Many of you know that I drive anywhere from 1 hr and 15 minutes to 1 and a half hours EACH way to work EVERYDAY, AND I spend roughly $300 a month on GAS!!! Needless to say, it's a lot, so I've been praying for months on what God would have me to do next year. I LOVE MY SCHOOL! I love my kids...most days, so I really didn't want to leave, but I refuse to move. I have my reasons, and if you scroll back, you can read them!!! So, I made my requests known to God, and put it into His hands.

I'm happy to report that I have three interviews next week in Spring ISD. Now, this scares me because if I get the job, I'll have to resign and....oh the stress!!! BUT, I do believe that this is the best move for me right now. I don't need to be on the road like that, and I desire to work in the community in which I live! So, it seems as though I may have the pick of the litter when it comes to schools, so say a prayer for me that God will lead me in the right direction. Also, that the resignation process will go smoothly.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited, just nervous and anxious, but I'm reminded who's in control.

In other news, school will be out in 9 days!!! PTL!!! I can't wait to wave goodbye to the little sweethearts! I need a break, and it's time to send them home to their parents! LOL!

Well, I'll be back this weekend. I'm taking myself on a date tomorrow night...finalizing the details as we speak. For sure I'm going to get my nails done, and after that, I'm pretty clueless...any ideas?

I promise to post pics next time..maybe even a video if you're lucky! HA! Goodnight! Don't forget to check out the prayer blog... www.healtheirland.blogspot.com
